My sister says I'm a slut to design.  She's right I get such a kick out of whats 'new'and 'on trend'  How things look and gathering like a magpie ideas and images from like minded design slaves.

I think I have passed it on to my eldest daughter because she got a bit crazy with me on the party decor for the five year olds birthday party.  We had a blast and I think the kids did too.

So putting the hours of pinterest party perusing to good use here are some ideas we used.

• Kate spade envelopes on the wall.  Great impact for very little effort and we turned it into a game of charades by drawing pictures and popping them in the envelopes. Couldn't find the original post but eatdrinkchic still has a post about it.
• Martha Stewart tissue paper pom-poms.  Again, great impact for very little effort.
• Hang balloons from the ceiling.  Just as effective as helium.
• Oh yes and post it notes make great flag cake toppers. All my own idea!

Giant paper flowers.  These make me go weak at the knees.  Sad I know.  Clever lady that Chantal, Etsy shop Dragonfly Expression.  Found via the lovely Mon carnet blog.

Birthday party weekend this weekend.  Trying hard to share the making with the kids.  Yes, you can make the pinata...even though mommy  dearly wants to make it and show everyone how clever and talented she is.

Yesterday we were featured on print & pattern.

His fluffiness is stealing my kids toys and taken them into the garden 

so I keep finding sad little guys like this hidden under the trees.  Shame.

Been baking my own bread! One of my finest achievements.  

Sent my daughter to school with homemade bread sandwiches.  

Too much time on your hands you say.  Supermum I say!

Think I have finally got the hang of it and am now really enjoying it.

Top Drawer Spring is on and we're there so come and say hi!  This year it is paired with the Home show and I must say it's all looking very swish.  I have totally lost my sense of direction, I normally know exactly where I am on the show but they have changed everything around so I have done a lot of walking in circles scratching my head, but all good, the show looks tremendous.

It has been freezing cold but oh so sunny.

Earls Court.

I never used to like origami, but I think I have changed my mind.

mushroom, black cat, lampshade,

paper ball, elephant.

My kids could cover that room in seven seconds flat.  

We have few rules in this house 

but one of them is definitely no stickers on the furniture!

Artist Yayoi Kusama gave a bunch of small people some sticky dots and this

is the result.  A fabulous installation for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art.
